Hey there! I’m Rebecca – the voice behind Citizen’s Quill, and I’m thrilled you’re here.
I’m a proud upstate New Yorker, a lifelong political junkie, and more recently, someone who can’t stop thinking about what happens when artificial intelligence collides with the things I care about most: gender justice, democratic accountability, and who gets to hold power in a rapidly changing world.
Citizen’s Quill started as a space for political observations, insights, and the occasional well-earned rant. It’s still that, but it’s also evolving. I now work in AI and I’m finishing my degree in a program that has me deep in questions about writing, editing, and how we communicate in an era where machines can generate text but can’t generate critical thought. The combination of politics, gender studies, and AI turned out to be a lane almost nobody is occupying. So I’m occupying it.
The Frameworks Tech Forgot is my ongoing series exploring AI at the intersection of gender, politics, law, and ethics – because the most important questions about technology were never technical. If you’ve ever wondered who builds these systems, whose data trains them, whose labor sustains them, or whose lives they classify and control, you’re in the right place.
When I’m not diving into algorithmic bias or tracking the latest AI policy debate, you can find me exploring the beautiful landscapes of upstate New York with my two trusty companions: Binx, my noble Doberman, and Rusty, the most determined Dachshund you’ll ever meet. They provide the perfect balance of chaos and calm to my politically charged, AI-obsessed world.
Join me as we explore the places where power, technology, and justice meet, one post at a time. I’m building a community where we can think critically, push back on easy narratives, and maybe even change a few minds along the way.
